Without a doubt, using the right project management tool can be a game-changer for your business. It allows you to organize tasks and documents, allows internal communication (especially awesome for remote teams), and keeps you on track to meet deadlines. Needless to say, we’re huge fans of project management tools at The Elevate Effect, but choosing the right tool will be key to your brand’s success.
Whether you have a project management tool that you’ve recently implemented or you’re in the market for a modern system, we’re introducing three ways to get the most from your platform. These three tips are applicable if you’re a solopreneur or growing your team. Check them out! 👇
Implementing A Project Management Tool
It’s time to put your automated workflow into overdrive with a customizable project management tool. Need an overview of some of the most popular platforms? We’ve compared ClickUp to Asana and developed a must-have list of features no matter which tool you choose. While you are selecting your platform, keep these three tips in mind.
1. Get pumped about the platform.
More important than the project management tool you choose is your excitement behind it. You want something that you will actually use, can be customized to your business, and that your team can easily navigate. Any tool will have a learning period, but it’s important to find ways to get excited and motivate your team to learn the inner workings of the system. Try these ideas to build enthusiasm:
- Identify your team’s pain points and how the platform will solve them.
- Offer incentives for your team to complete training offered by the platform.
- Explain what your team will be able to do with the saved time produced by the project management tool.
Create a vision with your team about how the platform can be used. This will help initiate ownership and confidence in using the tool.
2. Take advantage of the training offered.
Many platforms will offer live, virtual training. Take advantage of all the tools available and encourage your team to do the same. This is often the best way to see how the system works and be able to ask questions to learn the tool more closely.
Establish team training sessions for collaborative learning and, if your team is large enough, identify a platform leader. The leader will be someone who grasps the tool and will use it regularly. They will become your team’s go-to for questions.
3. Continue to learn.
Asana, ClickUp, and Trello – three of the most modern project management tools – are constantly updating their systems. Improved features roll out on occasion, and you don’t want to miss them. Sign up for the platform’s emails and stay in contact with your account representative so you’re aware of new tools that can simplify your processes even more.
